The walk along the busy A352 past the Garden Centre before turning down past Galton Farm feels a bit exposed but after this short stretch the walk is through some really good and varied countryside. The area around Galton Heath has been developed into a rather attractive nature reserve.
Some of the fields seemed to be full of wild chicory which had been kept very short by the grazing cattle. Talking of cattle we also spotted a very large bull who looked as if he had had a rather busy time recently.
