Having arrived at our starting point next to the old well the heavens opened and we were unable to
even put our wet weather gear on for over half an hour. When we did start off back came the rain but it soon passed over. It was quite muddy under foot in places but nothing us old timers couldn't manage. The area has a lot of permissive paths so we were able to deviate from the normal rights of way when ever we wanted.
We ended up at the Haymore for lunch where we all enjoyed a nice plate of fish and chips .
