There had been loads of rain before this walk and it showed! The road past Candies Farm was impassable and we had to head back and along the road before turning right onto the footpath. Good views from the top over the Stour Valley. We hit some further problems around Knoll Manor Clay Pit where the road was again impassable. A kind local landowner allowed us to cross her field and rejoin the footpath above Henbury Plantation. All went well after this until we tried to find a route through Corfe Mullen itself. The footpaths shown on the map seem to have been taken over by house building. We eventually found our way over to the Roman Road and headed along some damp paths back to the Lambs Green Inn. The last stretch of the road just before the pub was also under water but luckily not deep enough to go over the top of walking boots - we walked slowly and for once nobody was making waves.
